PRIVACY POLICY

This page contains our Privacy Policy as required by the EU’s new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).



We are required to hold personal data on members of Ognisko Polski for the following purposes:

  1. In order to fulfil the contract of services we have with you e.g. notify you of events and membership related matters.
  2. Also to send out updates and general information related to the club.

The personal data we hold on you is limited to:

  1. the information you provided us on your membership application form
  2. keeping a record of payments, you make towards your membership fee, functions and events

If you cease to be a member we will keep your personal data for a year. We hold the original membership application form you completed as a hard copy in a locked filing cabinet and an electronic copy on an encrypted database. The payments you make are recorded on our accounting software.

We take your privacy seriously. We will not share or disclose your personal data other than for the purposes specified in this notice or where there is a legal requirement.

In accordance with the new GDPR, members of the Club have the following rights with regard to the personal data we hold for you:

  • the right to be informed
  • the right of access
  • the right to rectification
  • the right to erasure (subject to legal restrictions)
  • the right to restrict processing
  • the right to data portability
  • the right to object
  • the right not to be subject to automated decision-making including profiling

No action is required by you and unless you advise us otherwise we will continue to notify you for the purposes stated above primarily by email but where necessary in writing or by calling you. If you would like us to cease to contact you then please inform the office in writing or by email.

However, please take into consideration that if you chose not be contacted it may become impractical for you to remain a member of our club.
